Unzila, 14, Cowasjee Campus alumni. She won the student badminton tournament. Her neighborhood is very proud of her. Her dad is a rickshaw driver. She has nine brothers, but the older ended up in a wrong circle and has been killed.
She would like to continue her education and to go to college, but for the moment her brothers do not agree. She hopes that the support that she gained thanks to her sports achievements will change their mind. In Pakistan, the literacy rate stands at a meager 55%, one of the lowest in the world. 24 million children, mostly girls, are out of school and much more languish in dismal classrooms at the mercy of untrained teachers.
